Homecoming Week

We have lots of exciting events this week for our homecoming week! The homecoming football game is this Friday at 6pm. Please come out and cheer on our Hawks! Our game day sponsor, Stephanie McClellen of Northrop Realty will be giving out t-shirts at the game! (Shirts will be given to students only). Spirit wear will also be for sale. Before the game, come by for Friday Night Lights at the River Hill Grill. Also, don't forget to pick up your membership swag. There will be a table outside the stadium.

Fall Sports Updates

Field Hockey: Varsity field hockey won their game against Hammond but lost to Centennial. They have an away game with Wilde Lake on Wednesday at 5:30. Please support the team by grabbing Chipotle on Thursday! (see flyer below)

JV played Centennial JV on Friday and it was 0-0. Centennial has been undefeated so this was a great accomplishment for our JV team. Defense did not let Centennial score.

Football: Hawks win big and dominate on offense and defense. 51-6 over Hammond Golden Bears.

JV Football - Congratulations to JV Football for their first win of the season. It was a great team effort by all of the players. They beat Long Reach with a final score of 22-0. They play at Hammond on Monday. Game time is 4:30pm.

Golf: Boys golf - Congrats to Trevor Hartman & Justin Choi on senior day as the boys team beat Atholton to improve to 5-2. Girls golf - Stayed undefeated (7-0) after beating Atholton. They will play Marriotts Ridge on Tuesday for the County Championship.

Boys Soccer: Varsity won on 9/30 vs Reservoir (3-2). Goals by Alexander El Sawi, Ravi Tuscano and OG. Overtime comeback for the win. On 10/1, they won vs Howard W 2-1. Goals by Luke Martinez and Alexander El Sawi. On 10/3 they won vs Hammond W (4-0). 2 goals scored by Joshua Chun, Luke Martinez and Teddy Yao

JV boys soccer won vs Reservoir 1-0.

Girls Soccer: Varsity Girls soccer went 3-0 defeating Reservoir, Howard & Hammond (senior night)

Volleyball: Varsity Volleyball won v. Wilde Lake 3-0 last week

The deadline to join and receive merchandise ("membership swag") has been extended to October 12^th to align with Clarksville/River Hill Community Day. All membership swag should be picked up by October 12th.

Senior Sunrise Donations Requested

Senior Sunrise is on Friday, October 10 from 6:30–7:30 AM on the blacktop by the tennis courts. We need your help to make it a great start to the Class of 2026's final year!

We're looking for donations of nut-free breakfast food and volunteers to help us run the event smoothly.

Concessions Volunteers Needed!

RHHS is hosting the HoCo Invitational Cheer Competition on Wednesday, October 15th and the Howard County Cheer Competition on Wednesday, October 22nd. Our next Boosters Meeting will be on Monday, October 27th at 6:30pm in Planning Room B. We will be reviewing the club grant applications at this meeting.

Friday Night Lights

Whether you are headed to a big game or out with friends for the evening, don't forget to stop by RIVER HILL GRILL any time 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Fridays during football season and a portion of all proceeds will be donated back to RHHS Boosters. Don't miss out on this Hawk-tastic fundraiser. We'll see you at the Grill! The RHHS football game will be live streamed when available.

Clarksville/River Hill Community Day

Join Boosters at the inaugural Clarksville/River Hill Community Day, co-hosted by the River Hill Community Association and the Fifth District (Clarksville) Volunteer Fire Department. This event will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in the parking lot of the Ten Oaks Ballroom (5000 Signal Bell Lane, Clarksville) from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Community Day builds on the fire department’s annual open house and brings together neighbors, Howard County agencies, and local organizations for a day of connection, celebration, and shared purpose. Highlights include:

Fire safety demonstrations and rescue gear displays

A kids’ combat challenge

A free plant giveaway

On-site flu shots

Local creations, crafts, and treasures for sale

Boosters will be at the event to engage with the community. Spirit wear will be available for sale and Boosters members can pick up their swag.

Music Boosters Fundraiser

The RHHS Music Booster's annual 'Desserts and More' fundraiser is underway through October 15th! Stock up on favorites like pies, cookies, pizzas, and pretzels. A portion of every purchase directly funds critical needs for our RHHS Music programs, including buying new music, repairing instruments, and maintaining band uniforms. Driver's Ed

RHHS Boosters partners with BOTH premier driver's education programs in our region - Street Smarts of Maryland and Greg's Driving School. Both schools donate to Boosters for every student that enrolls in their program. Not only will each registered student receive a first-rate driver's education, but each enrollment will be helping to support Boosters and our school community.
