Fall Sports Updates

Football: Hawks get their first win of the season with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball. 34-14 over Long Reach.

JV Football played Guilford Park last Monday. They lost a close game 35-44 at home. They are really starting to gel as a team and we are looking forward to their game at Long Reach on Monday. 

Field Hockey: Varsity field hockey won their games against Reservoir and Howard, both 1-0. They have a home game with Hammond Monday at 4 and an away game with Centennial Friday at 5:30. 

Golf: Girls golf is 6-0. Michelle Yeung shot 2 rounds of -3 par. Boys Golf is 4-2 

Boys Soccer:  Varsity boys soccer lost vs Centennial HS (L 0-3) and won vs Oakland Mills HS (W 3-1). Goals by Alexander El Sawi, Yiannis Docouto, and Shujia Zhang. 

JV boys soccer won vs Oakland Mills 4-1 this week. 

Girls Soccer: Varsity and JV Girls soccer win v. Oakland Mills

Volleyball: All 3 volleyball teams won this week against Reservoir and Varsity also won against Oakland Mills on Monday.

Cross Country: This week XC gets an off week as they prepare for their first trip to the Great American XC Festival in North Carolina!

The deadline to join and receive merchandise ("membership swag") has been extended to October 12th to align with Clarksville/River Hill Community Day.  All membership swag should be picked up by October 12th.

Senior Sunrise Donations Requested

Senior Sunrise is on Friday, October 10 from 6:30–7:30 AM on the blacktop by the tennis courts. We need your help to make it a great start to the Class of 2026's final year!

We're looking for donations of nut-free breakfast food and volunteers to help us run the event smoothly.

Next Boosters Meeting

Our next Boosters Meeting will be on Monday, October 27th at 6:30pm in Planning Room B. We will be reviewing the club grant applications at this meeting.

Friday Night Lights

Whether you are headed to a big game or out with friends for the evening, don't forget to stop by RIVER HILL GRILL any time 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Fridays during football season and a portion of all proceeds will be donated back to RHHS Boosters. Don't miss out on this Hawk-tastic fundraiser. We'll see you at the Grill! The RHHS football game will be live streamed when available.

Music Boosters Fundraiser

The RHHS Music Booster's annual 'Desserts and More' fundraiser is underway through October 15th! Stock up on favorites like pies, cookies, pizzas, and pretzels. A portion of every purchase directly funds critical needs for our RHHS Music programs, including buying new music, repairing instruments, and maintaining band uniforms. Clarksville/River Hill Community Day

Join Boosters at the inaugural Clarksville/River Hill Community Day, co-hosted by the River Hill Community Association and the Fifth District (Clarksville) Volunteer Fire Department. This event will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in the parking lot of the Ten Oaks Ballroom (5000 Signal Bell Lane, Clarksville) from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Community Day builds on the fire department’s annual open house and brings together neighbors, Howard County agencies, and local organizations for a day of connection, celebration, and shared purpose. Highlights include:

Fire safety demonstrations and rescue gear displays

A kids’ combat challenge

A free plant giveaway

On-site flu shots

Local creations, crafts, and treasures for sale

Boosters will be at the event to engage with the community.  Spirit wear will be available for sale and Boosters members can pick up their swag.

Driver's Ed

RHHS Boosters partners with BOTH premier driver's education programs in our region - Street Smarts of Maryland and Greg's Driving School. Both schools donate to Boosters for every student that enrolls in their program.  Not only will each registered student receive a first-rate driver's education, but each enrollment will be helping to support Boosters and our school community.
