Link Changes Needed for Statistics Updates

1. Receive current statistics spreadsheet file from team statistician via internet email. For the Hawks, Chris Haug records statistics on paper during each game and ten goes home and inputs the data into an Excel spreadsheet. Chris then attaches or UUencodes the spreadsheet file and uses Pegasus mail to send SMTP mail directly to the Lacrosse Home Page Webmaster. 2. Either save the attached MIME file or UUdecode and save as an Excel .xls file. Name file after most recent game, i.e. "glenelg.xls". 3. Call up Excel version 5.0 4. Open the current River Hill consolidated spreadsheet file e.g. "glenelg.xls" First, you're going to save the three game files, then the individual file and last the team stats to date (working on the team stats wrecks file for further use) a. Find and highlight the current stat table for 1st Half of Game 1. click on smiley face conversion button (Jordan Evans Excel to HTML conversion macro) 2. name file "game04a.htm" (change game # to correct one) 3. name header opponent's school name, e.g. "glenelg-1st half" 4. go through the rest of the info prompts - leave them blank b. find & highlight current stat table for 2nd Half of Game 1. click on smiley conversion button 2. name file "game04b.htm" (change game # to correct one) 3. name header opponent's school name, e.g. "glenelg-2nd half" 4. go through the rest of the info prompts & leave blank c. find and highlight current stat table for Game Statistics (combined total game) 1. click on smiley conversion button 2. name file "game04c.htm" (change game # to correct one) 3. name header opponent's school name, e.g. "glenelg-game" 4. go through the rest of the info prompts & leave blank d. find and highlight current stat table for Individual Stats Season to Date 1. click on smiley conversion button 2. name file "rhindiv.htm" 3. name header opponent's school name, e.g. "glenelg" 4. go through the rest of the info prompts & leave blank e. find current stat table for Season Statistics to Date For 1st Half of Season: 1. take out future games columns by highlighting and then use Edit pull down menu - Delete and pick Shift Cells Left 2. highlight whole table 3. click on smiley conversion button 4. save output file "rhteam.htm" 5. name header opponent's school name, e.g. "glenelg" 6. go through the rest of the info prompts & leave blank For 2nd Half of Season 1. Make two files: rhteam1.htm and rhteam2.htm 2. Put 1st Half in rhteam1.htm and for rest of season just deal with the season half of table 5. a. copy game00a.htm to game04a.htm b. correct dates (2) c. correct game opponent - also in data body at end d. correct file name and modified date e. repeat for game00b & 00c 6. insert new stat body 7. delete first 5 lines and last line from insert 8. clean out empty data rows (4) at bottom of table 9. do brief macro to format each table row into indented data elements 10. do macro to add <BR> for empty data elements 11. copy and repeat the column headings so column headings will always be showing on web screen. a. for individual statistics (rhindiv.htm) and game stats repeat first two rows between Kruger and Shipe. b. for team statistics (rhteam.htm) repeat heading between "Opp Ground Balls" and "Clears" rows, and between "Defensive Success %" and "Face Offs". 12. use note pad to clean "box" at end of all 5 files </BODY> </HTML>
