End of Season Coach's Notes
Boys Varsity 1998

Midfield       Attack

Goalies Defense
Richard Cotton,     Sophomore     Goalie

Improved mechanics significantly since freshman year. Broken hand took him out of starting position. Tough, good athlete, focused. Cotton or Melton likely starter in '99.

Will Melton ,     Freshman     Goalie

Stepped in with injury to Cotton. Played exceptionally well. Biggest positive surprise. Big, tough, great potential. Will likely battle Cotton for starting spot next year.

Mike Romano,     Sophomore     Goalie

Converted midfielder. Excellent athlete. Tough, competitive, capable back-up. Has great potential because of quickness.

Defense

Brian Potts,     Senior     Defense

Good team player. Played an important role in developing the younger players.
Duncan Brooks,     Junior     Defense

Big capable. Remarkedly mature for someone who started in goal for JV in '97. Potential '99 all-county D.

Charles Whitaker,     Junior     Defense

Leader, great quickness & contribution to clearing. Very good defensively. Potential '99 all-county D.

Jason Fawcett,     Sophomore     Defense

Significantly improved stick skills vs. '97. Excellent defensively & very good on ground balls. Very tough. Potential '97 all-county.

Doug Clime,     Junior     Defense

Smart controlled player. Very capable backup and EMD long pole. Player key to EMD & contributes as team player.

Chris Rosas,     Freshman     Defense

Smart, capable with excellent potential. Moved up from JV mid year. Played long pole middie on 3rd unit.
