In their final tupe-up before Mt. Hebron the Hawks were not sharp. They beat an uninspired
Wilde Lake team 11-3, despite taking well over 40 shots. Poor finishing continues to
be a problem.
The defense held Wilde Lake to 3 goals but really wasn't tested. Will Melton continues to improve in his play out of the goal & the starting defense of Duncan Brooks, Jason Fawcett & Charles Whitaker play well as a group. The midfield play was spotty and at times very uninspired. Abe Dyer (2 goals, 1 assist) and Jay Morgan (1 assist) contributed to the scoring. Scott Kenworthy (2 goals, 5 assists) led the attack which scored 9 of the 11 goals. Justin Clark (5 goals) and Brian Fabel (2 goals, 1 assist) completed the scoring. Let's hope the lack of intensity is because the Hawks are looking ahead to Mt. Hebron. In the weekly Sun Paper poll the 9-1 Hawks are ranked 16th in the State.s |
