Boys Junior Varsity Lacrosse - Hawks v. Howard

River Hill - 9        Howard - 2

River Hill JV boys played a very physical game against Howard today. The Hawks won the game 9-2.

It was a rough first half with the score at halftime, River Hill 2 Howard 0. In the second half the Hawks turned up the heat and scored 6 unanswered goals to take an 8 to 0 lead into the fourth quarter. Danny Allen scored the last goal to seal the win. Goalies Peter Zanger and Daniel Meechen shut Howard down, only giving up 2 goals.

The first line middies of Jeff Borakove, Conrad Heinz and Jesse Southworth played well. Heinz had 2 goals and Borakove added 1. In the fourth quarter the middie line of Jason Kahler, Kevin Bormel and P.J. Kelly consistently shut off Howard,s midfield. Also playing a great game were the midfield lines of Alec Summers, Dan Floyd and Jamie Hibbard, Danny Allen, Austin Rottier and Elliot Sloan.

Ryan Decker again led the attack with 3 goals, followed by 2 from Jimmy McGrann. Evan White and Tim Ousborne also had a good games. In the fourth quarter the attack led by the Drew Fontaine, Suneel Bhat and Todd Luger kept the pressure on Howard's defense. In the first half the Hawks outstanding defense was led by Fernando Slade, Rich Kelly, and David Walters. In the fourth quarter Howard was shut down by Jesse Wilensky, Nick Kovasic, and Danny Conklin. A great game by the Hawks. Bring on Mount Hebron!
