Playing catch-up most of the first two quarters the Hawks
were again not playing to their capabilities. But in the third quarter after again falling behind 5-6 and 6-7 Jay Morgan scored to tie the game at 7. Then Justin Clark (3 goals), Scott Kenworthy (3 goals, 2 assists), and Brooks Brumsted (2 goals, 1 assist) scored to give the now 6-1 Hawks what turned out to be an 11-8 win. The defense of Duncan Brooks, Jason Fawcett, and Charles Whitaker with Will Melton in goal held Glenelg to three 2nd half goals and played an excellent game. Abe Dyer (1 goal, 1 assist), Brian Fabel (1 goal) and Brian Maggio (2 assists) completed the scoring for River Hill. This win ties the most wins in a season recorded by the 1997 & 98 teams which recorded 6 & 9 and 6 & 7 records. The Hawks were recognized by the Baltimore Sun Paper in their weekly ranking as 19th in the state, the first time a River HIll Lacrosse team has received ranking recognition. |
