River Hill defeated Westminster 12-6 to capture their 1st tournament.
This was the same Westminster team that the Hawks had previously beaten 8-6.
The Hawks took a quick 4-0 lead. Westminster came back to within 4-3 at the end of the 1st quarter but River Hill scored 7 of the next 8 goals to take a comfortable lead of 12-4 before finally surrendering the last two goals. Justin Clarkwith 6 goals, Brooks Brumsted with 3 goals and 4 assists, Scott Kenworthy with 1 goal and 2 assists and Jay Morgan and Brian Fabel with one goal each and Abe Dyer with one assist provided the offensive inputs. The defense of Will Melton in goal, Charles Whitaker, Duncan Brooks and Jason Fawcett were outstanding again. This now puts the young Hawks at 4-1 entering the Howard County portion of their schedule. |
