PTSA Reflections

2009-2010 REFLECTIONS PROGRAM THEME:  "Beauty is...!"

PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in its annual art Reflections Prgram.

Participating students can interpret this theme in 6 creative categories:

LITERATURE,

PHOTOGRAPHY,

VISUAL ARTS (Example: drawing, painting, collage and printmaking),

FILM/VIDEO,

DANCE and

MUSIC!

Don’t limit yourself to just 1 category or 1 entry! In past years, we had a record breaking number of Reflection entries. Each one was unique and they were all phenomenal creative efforts. The judges for our school entries are all professionals in those fields and they were highly impressed by the efforts last year. There are 4 levels of competition where the 4 winners in each category proceed to the next level: first is your school, then county, state and finally national. Award ceremonies and certificates of participation and winner placement are given out at each level.  Along with those honors is the extra credit that your teachers give for completed entries by the deadline date. Teachers will be giving EXTRA CREDIT for any entries in Art, Literature, Photography, Dance, Music or Film.  Ask YOUR teacher about earning this extra credit!

Simple rules, entry forms, and entry drop box will be in the RHHS front office starting October 12, 2009. Forms/rules will also be printable from the RHHS Website: riverhill.org/ptsa It is extremely important to fill out your Title and brief Artist Statement on your forms.  Deadline for submission is December 14, 2009.

Don’t hesitate to call with any questions. Be sure to visit: http://www.pta.org/2032.asp for more information and to view last years winning entries. The Reflections Committee is looking forward to seeing all your "beauty" and creativity in interpreting the this year's theme.  Knock our socks off!

The pages are designed by students, teachers, parents, and friend volunteers. This site fosters a learning environment and encourages individual creativity.
